Widforss painted this picture of the Watchtower in 1933 and it was produced by the Fred Harvey Company as part of a postcard packet using a painted photograph. The Desert View Watchtower is a 70 foot tower, on the east end of the park, that has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark. It was constructed in 1932 by Mary Colter. The aerator worked amazing for about 6 weeks, then started just automatically going off. It drained a $70 bottle of wine. I wanted to cry…..
